Columbus runners and first responders will gather at CSU Woodruff Park on Saturday, October 24, for the annual Columbus Firefighters Charity 5K. Registration opens at the park for all three race options, each beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Runners can choose from three options: a standard Community 5K Run, a 5K Full Gear Firefighter Turnout for firefighters running in gear, and a Law Enforcement/Military 25-lb Vest or Ruck Run for first responders and service members. Each option costs $35 to enter, whether registering in advance or on race day, according to the event's official registration page. Organizers say proceeds support local charities.
Woodruff Park sits at 1000 Bay Ave. in Columbus, giving runners an Uptown starting point with parking available nearby along Broadway. |

If you're going, leave a little time to walk around Broadway first. My grandkids love picking a place to eat before a show.
That sounds like a fun way to make an afternoon of it. RiverCenter is at 900 Broadway, within walking distance of Uptown restaurants and shops.
Patricia GomezLetting the grandkids pick dinner makes the whole afternoon feel special. Broadway is great for that.
The 4:00 start is nice, though I wish RiverCenter had a Saturday show too. Sunday afternoons get busy with school the next day.
A Saturday show would be convenient for busy families. RiverCenter’s listing has the performance on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
Chris M.I hear you. A Saturday show would be easier for us too, but at least 4:00 isn't too late.
We took the kids to a puppet show at RiverCenter last year and they still talk about it. Glad this one is coming to Columbus.
What a lovely memory! We’re glad another puppet-filled show is coming to Columbus.
Janelle P.That's the kind of thing kids remember. Mine still talk about the puppets from a show we saw there too.
I loved Fraggle Rock as a kid, but I wonder if the live show is aimed more at little kids. Has anyone seen it?
Tom WillisI haven't seen the stage show, but I'm curious about that too. I'd go for the music and a little nostalgia.
We haven’t seen the live show, but RiverCenter describes it as family-friendly and intended for audiences of all ages, so longtime fans are welcome, too.
My daughter loves Mokey, so we may have to go Sunday! A 4:00 show is perfect for getting home before bedtime.
Megan R.My son is a Wembley fan. The early start is what has me thinking we can make it work.
Mokey fans have something to look forward to! That 4:00 p.m. Sunday start sounds like a good fit for your family.
